Blades
must stay in their protection box, taking out one at a time
from the inner.
- Band knives must be well clean; furthermore, it is necessary
to remove the protective grease, paying attention in not bumping
into blades during the cleaning and the dismantling.
- It is necessary to settle the blades on fly-wheels, perfectly
rectified and on clean benches. It is very important to put
back the pushing blades and plates must be in a good condition.
Otherwise blade could not turn straight.
- On old machines, with manual adjustment, it is necessary not
to stretch too much the blade, not leave it too much slackened.
- It is necessary never bend the welding point (marked by our
trade-mark). You must remove the protective band just at the
end of the blade assemblage. For any complaint, you can find
the size of blade and the date of production near the trade-mark:
please refer to these data in case of a possible changes of
steel.
- After assembling, blade must idle some minutes in order to
be able to adjust on the machine well. Afterward, it is possible
to adjust the machine for the sharpening (we can pre-sharpen
the blades on request, to facilitate the technician).
- The sharpening of blade is very important too: in fact, the
grinding stones must never be pasted. It is necessary to use
carborundum 20 X 200 with specification 37 C 30
T8V (Norton) before the sharpening and during the use of blades.
It is necessary to make the first bevel very slowly because
if you make it quickly and if there is not a good relation between
the steel and the grinding stone, the steel gets overheated
and the structure changes, prejudging the good output of cutting.

Usually,
for what it concerns the inclination of the bevel, they suggest
following the instructions of manufacturers.
In wet blue: the bevel, for this processing is of mm
5, upper one and mm 3, lower one.
In lime: the bevel, for this processing is of mm 6,
upper one and mm 4, lower one.
In dry: the bevel, for this processing is of mm 3,5,
upper one and mm 2,5 lower one (not longer, otherwise, the
cut can lose the force).
The bevel must be always scratched, it must not be
shiny.
IIt must always be in the full thickness.
The grinding of the blade is basic for a perfect cutting performance.
We suggest keeping the stones perfectly cleaned and not dirty.
